An epitaph

A while back, I posted a song I'd like to have played at my funeral. Earlier this week, I read a verse which I would like to have as an epitaph. In the 19th century, prominent church figures and missionaries were often asked for a single verse as a verse for their life. I would like to have Psalm 119:141:

"Everyone calls me a nobody,
but I remember your laws. "

Adam, you are not a nobody. You are the blog Doctor of Deutoronomy, the Lion of Leviticus and the Know-all of Numbers. I'd be lost without your guidance and notes on each day's reading. Well, OK, I am lost but your crib notes at least guide me to where I might find God, even if in my selfish wretchedness I'd rather go looking for myself first.

There is something of an oxymoronic quality though to the idea of a prominent missionary choosing "Everyone call me a nobody..."

And as for anonymous wishing for some oral acclamation - try listening to Ian White's Psalm collection. It sounds a bit dated, but he has obviously walked the highs and lows of the great psalm writers.
