Day 5 exodus 1-15
Who among the gods is like you O LORD? Who is like you- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory working wonders? (15:11) LORD your sovereign dealings with Egypt show your hatred of sin and pride. Your sovereign dealings with Israel show your grace and redemption. Thank you for Jesus the Passover lamb and for the mighty rescue he won.

Was struck today by how Pharaoh starts off by stating that he doesn't know who this god of Moses is, yet as the plagues unfold, we are told they are signs so that Pharaoh will know who Yahweh is. Incidentally we aren't told the name of Pharaoh.
Most striking of all is Ex 12:12,which makes clear that the punishment is directed not against Pharaoh, but against Egypt's gods. Brings to mind Eph 6, with the struggle not being against forces in this world, but against spiritual powers and principalities.
